Attending NYFW enabled me to network with other designers, brand representatives and people within the fashion industry. This was hugely beneficial to my professional ambitions and wanting to go into the fashion industry upon completion of my studies. Attending this event encouraged me to put networking skills I learnt from employability fortnight into practice.
I engaged with two brand representatives of Nike in particular who offered me insight into attending events such as fashion week to gain inspiration as well as keeping up to date with current industry trends. Distributing my business cards afforded me to gain new business connections via Linked In. This included editors at Elle Magazine and create contacts within high-end brands such as Gucci.
